There are lots of post 16 opportunities for young people with special educational needs and / or disabilities.
- Bluebell Park provides opportunities for post 16 provision for young people with complex needs including independent living skills alongside creative, sports, horticulture and core curriculum
- Alt Bridge School provides post-16 provision for young people with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) with qualifications in life and living skills, employability and Duke of Edinburgh as well as continuing with English and Maths GCSEs and functional skills
- Flourish Further Education supports young people aged 19 to 25 who have very complex needs by providing an individualised sensory curriculum and life skills.
- The Knowsley Supported Internship Programme is a partnership between Knowsley Community College and Knowsley Council, aimed at giving young people (aged 16-25) with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, which could lead to future employment or voluntary work. - Knowsley Community College offers discrete supported learning provision for 16 to 25 year olds providing pathways focused on skills for independent living and for work.
